a daily snapshot
took the possessed by dostoevsky with me on my trip and i'm still reading it, it's a really surprising change from the other dostoevsky books i've read. it's extremely funny for one but, also, the writing just isn't as good as his others but i'll flesh that out in another review.
huge movie weekend @ music box -- find me at the room midnight screening then at paris, texas. remember your spoons, too.
thought it would also be a big show weekend and i was really looking forward to seeing cali's dummy. i got an email from spotify that they were playing, got a ticket a million years ago through them, then looked for more information recently and it turns out it was a different dummy. spotify messed up and i'm out $20 (no refunds and i'm a careless consumer). figures :<
about
general
this website is a work in progress and arises out of a need to engage in abstract, somewhat removed social interactions with physically distant friends. given the general consensus that graduating can be an extremely lonely experience, i hope that it's understandable that i set aside time to create this space as someone who also doesn't necessarily enjoy time online. there are so few places that allow me to engage with visual media without trying to sell me something whether that thing be as discrete as an article of clothing or as conceptual as the feeling of belonging itself. i hope that this capsule can exist as a reimagination of what it can mean to participate in social media and that the effort that i put into creating this can stand as a testament to my existence.
on this site, you'll be able to find reviews on recent media i've consumed (for film and literature), the activities that i am currently engaging in, and collections of one-off thoughts akin to an online diary (or twitter but whatever). thanks for checking up on me :).
for new friends
welcome! thanks for viewing this online capsule. if you didn't already know, i'm a 21 year old living in chicago and i want you to know that this seriously did not take too much time and that it's very easy for you to create your very own slightly bad website if you wanted to; this took a lot of googling and w3schools but i imagine it would be even easier if you pleasantly asked chatgpt to draw up some templates for you. please feel free to chat with me about whatever i post on this site and i hope this can become a site you check in on once in a while. i would also highly recommend checking out other sites on neocities, it's definitely the coolest website to currently exist...
notes
...currently, only the home and review pages are up and running, i'll get to current and collections when i can!

i was watching a youtube video about how the tech industry turned into what it is now and someone mentioned in the comments that they had pivoted from electrical or mechanical engineering into tech and might pivot back once it's truly like everything else, and that got me thinking about the applications of ai in engineering (in another universe, i would have studied civil engineering and i would still want to later in life) and the (reddit) discourse was pretty interesting. Everyone was literally unbothered, they were all pointing out how basically stupid ai is and none of them see it being able to handle as mny factors as they have to in their jobs daily. it honestly confounds me how quickly the attitude towards ai has changed in the past year let alone 5 years. The difference in expectation and reality for ai is, frankly, hilarious (at the moment).
