a daily snapshot
just finished main street by sinclair lewis; a perhaps overly philosophical review is up, i couldn't help myself. i am in love with his complicated people, simple appreciation of nature, and matter-of-fact love and recognition of fleeting moments. it speaks to my soul.
I LOVE THE INCONVENIENCE OF BAD WEATHER! being annoyed with it; having to be careful and purposeful in outdoor choices; reserving a section of small talk just for topics relating to it. i think it's a beautiful social ritual.
i saw so many movies this week, honestly scared to review them because it'll take me a second but i'll get to it...
about
general
this website is a work in progress and arises out of a need to engage in abstract, somewhat removed social interactions with physically distant friends. given the general consensus that graduating can be an extremely lonely experience, i hope that it's understandable that i set aside time to create this space as someone who also doesn't necessarily enjoy time online. there are so few places that allow me to engage with visual media without trying to sell me something whether that thing be as discrete as an article of clothing or as conceptual as the feeling of belonging itself. i hope that this capsule can exist as a reimagination of what it can mean to participate in social media and that the effort that i put into creating this can stand as a testament to my existence.
on this site, you'll be able to find reviews on recent media i've consumed (for film and literature), the activities that i am currently engaging in, and collections of one-off thoughts akin to an online diary (or twitter but whatever). thanks for checking up on me :).
for new friends
welcome! thanks for viewing this online capsule. i want you to know that this seriously did not take too much time and that it's very easy for you to create your very own slightly bad website if you wanted to; this took a lot of googling and w3schools but i imagine it would be even easier if you pleasantly asked chatgpt to draw up some templates. please feel free to chat with me about whatever i post on this site and i hope this can become a site you check in on once in a while. i would also highly recommend checking out other sites on neocities, it's definitely the coolest website to currently exist...
notes
...currently, only the home and review pages are up and running, i'll get to current and collections when i can!
latest interesting search
not that recent but, did you know that the toyota corolla has been the world's best selling car since 1966 and was only recently shoved into second by tesla (for the past 2 years). there is also a lot of demand for an electric version but toyota is institutionally not in support of EVs (no marketing for their 1 EV and has little to no investment in the tech to be manufacturing more EVs). tangentially related but search sucks now and it's sad not trusting a plain, raw search to pull up relevant or even correct information a lot of the time.
