a daily snapshot

i am currently very deep in deciding how to trick out my bike. i would like to do a trip soon and thus need some storage. i really want to get a bag support rack in the rear and a big back to attach to my seat but things are so expensive...

i have started reading Ursula K Le Guin's Hainish series and i finished The Dispossessed; it was insanely good. i really enjoyed the kind of honest relationship with the absurdities of the earth-like society. maybe i'll write a full review for it, idk.

as for gardening updates, i've been able to harvest a lot of basil so far this summer but my tomato plants are unfortunately still trailing behind. we'll see if i get any fruit from them but i've deemed it higly unlikely at this point.

about

general
this website is a work in progress and arises out of a need to engage in abstract, somewhat removed social interactions with physically distant friends. given the general consensus that graduating can be an extremely lonely experience, i hope that it's understandable that i set aside time to create this space as someone who also doesn't necessarily enjoy time online. there are so few places that allow me to engage with visual media without trying to sell me something whether that thing be as discrete as an article of clothing or as conceptual as the feeling of belonging itself. i hope that this capsule can exist as a reimagination of what it can mean to participate in social media and that the effort that i put into creating this can stand as a testament to my existence.
on this site, you'll be able to find reviews on recent media i've consumed (for film and literature), the activities that i am currently engaging in, and collections of one-off thoughts akin to an online diary (or twitter but whatever). thanks for checking up on me :).

for new friends
welcome! please feel free to chat with me about whatever i post on this site and i hope this can become a site you check in on once in a while. i would also highly recommend checking out other sites on neocities, it's definitely the coolest website to currently exist...

notes
...currently, only the home and review pages are up and running, i'll get to greenhouse when i can! some other ideas i have for site pages/sections include: bike repair log, site update log.

latest interesting search

i've been on a huge plant parent kick recently (my collection has grown so much, i might also add a greenhouse section to this site -- an idea from my partner) and i was deep in the throes trying to diagnose an illness in my chinese money plant (pilea peperomioides). i think i've got it although we'll have to wait for any improvements once i apply the fix. the symptoms were essentially as follows: lower leaves yellowing and subsequently falling off; leaves staying firm the whole time; lots of pups that were mostly fine; new leaves being fine then displaying symptom 1 after some time; leaves folding inwards. I've diagnosed it as nitrogen deficiency because N is a mobile nutrient meaning the localization of symptoms (specifically for the lower leaves with new ones being fine) is explained, and the leaves yellowing and bowing inward is also explained by it. hopefully this works...
